On Auto is a trade name of 2751837 Ontario Inc. ("On Auto", "we", "us"), located at 8280 Woodbine Ave, Markham, ON L3R 2N8. This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your personal information when you use on-auto.ca, call us, or text with us. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. What we collect

• Contact details: name, phone number, email address and home address.
• Details about your vehicle search: the vehicle you want, your monthly budget, and any vehicle you want to trade in.
• Details a dealership needs to prepare your purchase: date of birth, housing situation and monthly housing cost, employment, employer, job title and monthly income, and whether someone will co-sign.
• Messages: what you send us through forms, email, phone and text.
• Website data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and how you arrived at the site (for example an ad or a search), collected through cookies and similar tools.

2. How we use it

• To contact you about your request and help you find a vehicle.
• To arrange test drives, delivery and trade-in offers.
• To send appointment reminders and updates by text or email, where you have agreed to receive them.
• To improve our website and measure which of our ads work.
• To meet legal and regulatory obligations.

3. Who we share it with

We share your information only as needed to complete your request:

• Partner dealerships. When you ask us to find you a vehicle, we send your details to the Ontario dealership best placed to help. That dealership handles the sale and the purchase paperwork, which may include arranging payment options with the financial institutions it works with. The dealership will ask for your separate consent before checking your credit history.
• Service providers who host our website, run our phone, text and customer-management systems, and measure advertising, under contracts that limit their use of your information.
• Authorities when the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Text messaging and your mobile number

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with or sold to any third party. Your mobile number may be passed to a partner dealership only so it can contact you about the request you made.

5. Cookies and advertising

We use cookies and tags from Google and Meta to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and adjust ad preferences in your Google and Meta accounts.

6. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. If you opt out of texts, we keep a record of your opt-out so we don't text you again.

7. How we protect it

Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, access to customer records is limited to staff who need it, and our service providers are required to safeguard your information.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw your consent to messages at any time. Email privacyofficer@on-auto.ca. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
